Yahoo! has publicly committed to conducting human rights impact assessments, which include: exploring risks to freedom of expression and privacy in challenging markets; engaging with internal and external U.S. and international stakeholders; and designing risk mitigation strategies.
Academic Fellowships
Yahoo! has established international fellowships at Stanford University and Georgetown University to advance the work of journalists and scholars exploring the complex issues at the intersection of technology, free expression, privacy and global values.
Yahoo! Business & Human Rights Summit
On May 5, 2011, the BHRP hosted Yahoo!’s third annual learning forum about how technology, the Internet and social media support freedom of expression around the world, as well as about global efforts to protect and promote human rights in the Internet, Communications and Technology sector.
